JAH asks:
I am looking for some words of wisdom from a painting contractor that obviously is doing something right. I also have a painting company in Michigan and I have to tell you that I have hired and fired 30 guys over the past year. Good help is so hard to find. What would you suggest? The few painters I have make about $125 per day. Problem is, they cant get to work on time. The ones that make $75 per day cant keep equipment in good shape. I am so tired of dealing with the same issues over and over again. What would you suggest I do wanting to go to the next level? I cant paint the world on my own!
Scott responds:
It takes alot of trial and error to build the right team with the right chemistry. I recently wrote this article at another paint industry website, and it explains the best tips on how to get your business to start growing into itself. Hope this helps.
